My 1st Week Plans

Are you ready for the first week of school?  Last year I shared my ELA and Math Plans, and I made a few updates, so I wanted to share them again!  You can click on the pictures below to download them or click HERE!  Do I expect that everything I'm doing will work with your group of kiddos?  Absolutely not!  BUT, I do know that the beginning of the year is such a blur that sometimes we just need a little vision, so that's why I want to share these with you!  I know you have tons on your plate... getting your classroom decorated, writing student names on everything under the sun, school meetings, calendars, schedules, contacting students, and SOOOO much more!!!

You will see these two units from my TpT store mentioned above.  Here are those links:

After collaborating with some teachers, I decided that we are going to start with a Kevin Henkes author study.  His books just fit perfectly at the beginning of the year!  THEN, I went on the search for some cute resources, and I found the BEST freebies on TpT!

Hollie Griffith from the Razzle Dazzle Classroom has this Chrysanthemum craftivity and I adore it!  This picture comes straight from her blog so head on over there to show her some love!
Then, I found another wonderful text-to-self craftivity from Read with Me ABC!  Have you ever seen Wemberly look so cute?!
And, I love me some Leslie Ann, don't y'all?!  She's so stinkin' cute AND her puppy is just to.die.for.  We are going to do a little character analysis with Lilly using her freebie HERE!
Make sure you check out all of those ladies above and leave them some love if you download their freebies!  I can't wait to share pictures once my students finish their activities!  What are your favorite B2S activities?!  There are so many fun things to do and just not enough time to fit it all in!!!

Thank you for sharing your plans! You're right - a little vision from someone else is always appreciated! I wanted to share a link to a Kevin Henkes pack that I LOVE to use (in 1st) but could be great for 2nd, too!

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your lesson plans!!! Due to low numbers in Kindergarten which I have taught for the last four years I am moving to 2nd grade this year. This has taken alot of stress off of me since I have never taught second grade before! I love your activities and your blog.

Thanks so much for always being so willing to share!! This really does help give me the vision of where I want to go. Would you consider making your lesson plane template editable? I love how they are simple and easy to read.

Thanks again,
Misty

I would love for you to continue putting a plan on your blog, similar to how Deanna Jump does. That helped me so much when I taught K last year, and I would love to see how you do it to help me, a first year 2nd teacher! You're awesome!

Did you have to delete the daily 5 teachers guide??? I pinned it and never got to print it out. :-(

I saw your Daily 5, 30 day plan and didn't get chance to print it. Where can I find it on your blog. I just love your ideas and use them in my second grade class.
