Black History Month

Well, it's Thursday, my friends.  Which means we are one day away from the weekend!  My class has been knee-deep in Black History Month, and it has been a lot of fun!

Here are some of the projects we have done so far (All of these come from my Black History Month Pack)

We read about Ruby Bridges, made a little craft, and did some writing.  I love how different they all are!

We read about Rosa Parks, and found the main idea/details.  We organized the information onto a bus craft.

We actually opened our week with this activity that I'm sure several of you have done before!  We read "The Crayon Box That Talked."  On the crayons, each student wrote about how they were different from everyone else.

In my teamies class, my students made these cute flap books!  I love seeing how much they have progressed in Spanish!

You can find all of the Black History projects , and more {HERE}.  All of the patterns for each project are included

I do LOVE that huge board... it's so much easier than taping things to the walls! It does take a lot to fill it up though!

I have been stalking' your blog for awhile :) I'll be moving from 3rd grade to 2nd next year and I'm soooo excited!! Your blog is amazing! Thank you for sharing so many wonderful ideas . :)

I may have missed it, but have you posted about your small group instruction? I would love to know what you do with your littles during that time. :) or do you have any suggestions/resources for guided reading? That will be new to me next year.
